I'm Megan Melo, board-certified Family and Obesity Medicine Physician and Physician Coach. In this podcast we talk about the many ways that burnout shows up in our lives, and what we can do about it. I'm on a mission to help Physicians take steps towards to heal burnout by unlearning the habits of perfectionism, people-pleasing and limiting beliefs so that we can lead healthier, happier lives.

Ending Physician Overwhelm
Invest in Your Support System
Ah, here's an interesting one for you...
Another thing you never knew you needed help with? Getting help!
We are so used to doing EVERYTHING for everyone. As physicians, we have a lot of work in helping keep people healthy; women physicians are typically asked to do EVEN MORE by our patients and workplaces. That's a separate topic.
What's relevant today is that we are often not good at accepting and allowing help. Why should we be good at something that we don't have much practice with? I don't know how to do what I haven't experienced, right?. So today, we are exploring different elements of what it looks like to ask for help, cultivate good help, and become the leader who has the support she needs. The focus is work, but the ripple extends to helpers at home, including kids. Don't you WANT help with chores?!?
To learn more about my coaching practice and group offerings, head over to www.healthierforgood.com. I help Physicians and Allied Health Professional women to let go of toxic perfectionist and people-pleasing habits that leave them frustrated and exhausted. If you are ready to learn skills that help you set boundaries and prioritize yourself, without becoming a cynical a-hole, come work with me.
